Two More Days

Two more days until our move!  This week is moving like molasses, which is amazing because I feel really busy this week.

After work yesterday, I walked home from CalTrain (~1.5 miles+), got ready for a short run, did 10 minutes of core (push-ups, planks, sit ups, misc abs), and then ran 2 miles.

I kept the run easy because of Sunday's hilly run.  Surprisingly, I've had no residual muscle soreness from the hills. Perhaps it was the burrito I ate soon after the run that helped with the DOMS....or maybe my steady progress is really working.  That burrito was pretty damn tasty.

After my run, I picked up some Korean Food (http://www.yelp.com/biz/sj-omogari-korean-restaurant-san-jose-2) - the number 40 and 41 with tofu, and ate it with Phill when he got home.  I will miss being able to frequent this restaurant!

We also played with Dunsmuir.  He is definitely enjoying the house being disheveled - so many things to chew, tear, swallow, taste, lick, and jump on.  I can't wait to see him hopping all over the carpeted apartment in bunny-glee. He's never enjoyed slipping and sliding on the hardwoord floor.

After the run and dinner, Phill and I continued to pack.  I honestly thought we were closer to being ready than we really are.  I forgot all about the backyard!  That's okay - we will get it done.

First 2015 Post

Consistent blogging is a tough thing to do!  But hey, I will keep trying to update my 0 - 3 readers as much as possible. :)

2015 has been busy!  Phill and I are moving on Friday, which is incredibly exciting but at the same time incredibly stressful.  It will be just be me and him, living in our own one bedroom apartment - a one bedroom apartment with a washer and dryer inside the unit! YAY!

Running is going pretty well. I managed 23.3 miles last week with little trouble or pain.  Yesterday I ran 7 hilly miles.  The long hill was incredibly difficult because I am carrying more weight these days, but I kept reminding myself that it will just make me stronger once the weight comes off.

Phill and I signed ourselves up for a 5K in Napa at the beginning of March.  My goal is to have fun and carry no expectations.

2015 Blog-worthy Goals:
  • Read 5 books (I am sure to exceed this goal this year, since I no longer have a car and I am using CalTrain for transit!)
    • So far, I've read (both great reads):
      • Hardboiled Wonderland and the End of World, Haruki Murakami
      • An Irish Country Doctor, Patrick Taylor
    • Currently Reading:
      • The Social Conquest of Earth, E.O. Wilson
  • Run 30 miles per week average by December 2015

Well, I have nothing else to say right now...I have to get back to the work grind.
